Jodi completed her Pharmacy Tech degree in June 2014. She returned to Daymar College in Sept. 2014 and is currently in my INT 142 class. Jodi has a very giving heart. She recently participated in the St. Baldrick’s fundraising event to benefit research for children with cancer where she raised money and had her head shaved! When we started talking about internship and where/what she would like to do, she expressed an interest in working with a local 501 (3) (c) non-profit organization. This is where she would like to take her career after she completes her program. I was able to assist her with obtaining an internship with our local Habitat for Humanity. They are so excited to have her as an intern and she is so excited to have the opportunity to work with them. The following excerpt is taken from an email I received the day Jodi started her internship. It is from Melissa Cross, Development Director for Rutherford County Habitat for Humanity:
“Hi Holly, Jodi Thornsberry started her internship today and I think she’s going to work out beautifully! She has some great ideas and wonderful enthusiasm for our mission.”
It is Jodi’s enthusiasm for non-profit work and determination to succeed as a professional that will take her where she wants to go with her career. I have seen Jodi change in many ways since coming to Daymar College and I am so very lucky to be able to watch our students grow into professionals and to grow in their own personal ways.
